According to a new survey conducted by Belgian trade federation Comeos, 80% of Belgians are satisfied with parcel deliveries during office hours only. A total of 40% of online purchases are conducted after 5 pm. Each Sunday, nearly 8mn orders are placed. Comeos said that Belgian retailers lose 53.7% of their online turnover to retailers in nearby countries because orders placed in Belgium on a Sunday require two or three days for delivery. In addition, Belgium's wage disadvantage is costing Belgium between 13,000 and 15,000 jobs in distribution centres.
