China/Europe: Deeper cooperation on freight rail forged between seven nations

China Railway Corp reported that an agreement to enhance cooperation on the Sino-European freight rail services was inked between seven nations, consisting of Russia, Poland, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Belarus and China. This is part of the Belt and Road initiative, aiming to enlarge the market share of rail freight between the Europe and Asia. The agreement stipulates that an information sharing platform will be established to safeguard the transport safety, as well as a faster customs clearance for the participating nations.
