Valérie Mazzoni-Colin, the new Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of French transport and logistics firm Heppner, has announced a double objective aimed at increasing traceability, optimising operations, reducing costs and monetising data so that clients can optimise their own organisations. The company has recently announced a five-year EUR 20mn (USD 22.46mn) digitalisation project that will include the establishment of collaborative tools, perhaps with a start-up, an overhaul of transportation management software and the introduction of predictive software for the optimisation of loading and itineraries. Heppner is carrying out a dozen projects related to improving performance, generating productivity gains and the creation of a network among its distribution agencies. According to the CDO, the firm's main challenge is to increase customer satisfaction and introduce new services, which could emerge within three months' time. Possible launches could include B2B e-commerce services.
