Germany: DPD to trial autonomous parcel delivery vehicles

From 2017, German courier firm DPD plans to start testing the use of autonomous driving vehicles to deliver parcels in Hamburg, Karlsruhe and Ludwigsburg. A company spokesperson states that the firms is in talks with automotive suppliers. The idea is that a driverless vehicle will transport packages to a point at the edge of the city where parcelbots will then distribute them.
