Lithuania: Klaipedos Nafta's turnover, profit down in 2016

Lithuania's state-owned gas and oil terminal operator, Klaipedos Nafta, has reported an unaudited turnover of EUR 103.839mn in 2016, which was down 5.3% from EUR 109.702mn in 2015. The company's annual net profit amounted to EUR 13.915mn, which was down 36.9% from EUR 22.036mn a year earlier. In the fourth quarter of 2016, Klaipedos Nafta made a net profit of EUR 870,000 (down 10.2 times) on a turnover of EUR 23.5mn (down 23.6%). The terminal reloaded altogether 7.24mn tons of cargo in 2016 (up 15.2%), including 2.206mn tons of Russian and Belarusian oil products (up 8.8%). Marius Pulkauninkas, acting CEO of Klaipedos Nafta, said the company's costs increased due to the terms of a contract with a Belarusian oil trading company.
