Lithuania: Total cargo volume up nearly 11% in Q1/2017: statistics

The volume of cargo transported in Lithuania totalled 30.733mn tons in the first quarter of 2017, which was up 10.7% from the same period of 2016, Statistics Lithuania reported. The volume of international cargoes amounted to 19.3mn tons (up 13.6%) and domestic cargoes to 11.4mn tons (up 6.2%). Road transport accounted for 17.454mn tons (up 18.8%), rail transport for 11.738mn tons (up 2%), and sea transport for 1.402mn tons (down 0.9%) of the total.
