Norway: Asko trucks to run on solar energy

Wholesaler Asko Norge was first in Norway to have an electric truck and has moved forward contributing to the development of a new generation of trucks driven by hydrogen. By 2020, Asko will have phased out fossil fuels completely. Initially, the majority of Asko's fleet of 600 units will run on biofuels, but it is only the first phase. Torbjørn Johannson, Chairman of Asko says the wholesaler has come so far that he believes it will succeed in switching from diesel to renewable energy, adding that Asko will be first in Europe to have trucks that run on solar energy.
