Romania: CFR Director Marius Chiper dismissed in October 2017

The General Director of the Romanian state-owned railway company Caile Ferate Romane (CFR), Marius Chiper, was dismissed from his role with the company at the end of October 2017 by the Minister of Transport, Felix Stroe. The measure was taken in light of CFR's poor performance in spite of hundreds of millions of EUR going into the modernisation of the country's railway system in the past few years.
