According to a chart prepared in cooperation with the JLL consultancy firm, the largest industrial property developer in Slovakia in terms of completed office space between 2012 and 2017, was Prologis with 210,000 m2. The second was P3 with 160,000 m2, followed by AUO with 116,000 m2, Invest4SEE with 90,000 m2 and the fifth was VGP with 63,000 m2. The sixth came CTP with 54,000 m2, followed by Immorent with 38,000 m2, J&T Real Estate with 37,000 m2 and the tenth was Karimpol with 36,000 m2. Currently, developers of warehouses and production halls are benefiting from a boom in the automotive industry, but also thanks to the online business, which is demanding more distribution centres. In the past period Tesco, Lidl, Muziker, Hej.sk or Continental launched their centres in the country. Amazon will open its 60,000 m2 distribution centre in autumn 2017, which is being built by Mountpark Logistics EU. It will employ more than 1,000 workers. In the past two years over 520,000 m2 new logistics and industrial space was added on the Slovak market, increasing the total space of modern industrial premises to 1.78mn m2. Another 84,000 m2 are under construction. At the end of March 2017 the vacancy rate fell to 2.44% from 3.81% in 2016.
