140 employees at the container terminal operated by APM Terminals in the Port of Gothenburg in Sweden who received termination notices in June 2017 will be laid off. Half of the employees are permanent, while the other half consists of fixed-term employees, whose contracts will not be renewed when they expire on 31 August 2017. The Swedish Dockworkers' Union (Svenska Hamnarbetarförbundet) has criticised APM Terminals for miscalculations in employment hours in its termination notices. APM Terminals has confirmed errors, but states that miscalculations have been corrected.
