Sweden: Increase in environmental discounts in Port of Gothenburg

Port of Gothenburg has announced that a total of 75 vessels entering the port were granted the environmental discount of 10% on the port fee in 2016. This was equivalent to about one third of all vessels, and an 83% increase from 41 vessels in 2015. The discount is based on environmental standards Environmental Ship Index and Clean Shipping Index. Additional discounts are also granted for vessels fuelled on liquefied natural gas (LNG). Two vessels were granted the full 30% discount in 2016. These were Ternsund owned by Tärntank Ship Management and Fure West owned by Furetank.
