Sweden: Study on efficient logistics contucted at Linköping University

Efficient logistics may reduce construction costs by 25%, according to a study led by Martin Rudberg, Professor for Construction Management and Logistics at Linköping University. In addition, the number of shipments can be reduced by 80%, while productivity of skilled workers could increase by 200%. Rudberg stated that interest for logistics has increased over the years. For example, the number of students in an elective course on construction logistics at Linköping University has doubled to 80 since 2011. Interest for logistic projects has also increased among companies such as NCC, Peab, BIM Alliance and Beast.
