Swedish shipping companies Furetank and Älvtank have announced that they will expand their orders for LNG tankers from Chinese shipyard Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding. The two shipping companies will order an additional LNG tanker each, which will be added to the previous order of four LNG tankers. Lars Höglund, CEO of Furetank Rederi, states that the company is pleased with its partnership with Avic, and that the current market conditions allow for an additional order. He further says that while the tanker will be constructed in accordance with Danish regulations, it has not yet been decided whether it will operate under Swedish flag. Christian Nilsson, CEO of Älvtank, states that LNG tankers are the future of the industry, as they meet both current and future environmental requirements.
