People who drive for a living will have to retrain over the next 10-to-20-years as driverless vehicles become more widespread, according to the chancellor. Philip Hammond said about 1mn people would have to prepare for the arrival of driverless vehicles. Hammond said the economy would provide alternative jobs. The government is confident that driverless vehicles will be on British roads by 2021.
