A new drowsiness detector developed by Japan-based information and communication technology company Fujitsu will reportedly be tested in the UK in late June 2017 by German package delivery company DHL. The technology, which may be sold to private motorists in the future, could be launched for DHL's 9,000 British delivery drivers. By detecting a driver's blood flow and heart rate, the detector will inform drivers when they are at risk of falling asleep.
