According to the Head of the Ukrainian Grain Association Nikolay Gorbachev, if in the course of the year Ukraine will not solve the problem of shortage of grain wagons, exports and production of grain in the country can be reduced. Bankruptcy of many farmers is also possible. The Ukrainian Grain Association, the European Business Association and the US Chamber of Commerce have offered to provide a discount of 30% to the tariff for grain transportation in private wagons for five years. It is assumed that in this case private companies will be interested in investing in the construction of wagons. This will increase the total rolling stock of grain carriers in the country and improve the profitability of the railway.
