This event is open for everyone but registration is kindly required. Event is organized by LOGY Southern Region (LOGY Etelä) in collaboration with LOGY Young Professionals. Event will be held in English.
The online store is growing from year to year, and the end is not visible. At the same time, consumers' expectations of logistics services are growing, as deliveries must be fast and effortless, whether they are transported to a pick-up point or to your door. In addition, consumers are becoming more environmentally conscious, and thus sustainability is to be taken into consideration. How do logistics service companies respond to this and what is the future of urban logistics?

17.10 Urban logistics experiments Raimo, who has followed his entire career in the transport industry, currently works at the City of Helsinki's innovation company Forum Virium Helsinki. In a couple of logistics projects, he has been experimenting with both mobile robot transports in the shopping center and a new operating model for mapping distribution transport entrances. |

17.40 Sustainable urban logistics, i-SMILE project Virva is a post-doctoral researcher at Hanken School of Economics, currently involved in the Nordic Innovation project i-Smile. The project explores how the sustainability of urban last-mile logistics can be improved through innovations in transport modes and collection options. Virva’s doctoral thesis was on urban food security and food retail supply chain management. |
